See my life is a bore, no one reads this, I don't like talking bad about people who like me, so there are no updates. No one needs to know what cool test I took online or how I had a bad day. Matter of fact I am not that starved for attention, all of you who really know me know I stay as busy as a chipmunk on speed. I have my own poetry reading EVERY month. Then there is the Thirsty Poets which is every other month or so. To top things off I have joined the IFG to make indie movies. (www.theifg.com) Ok so F@#! if your looking for witty and daily updates from me look somewhere else....and have a nice week.

After years of missing and many miles searched, I am back, kind of. I just spent a couple of hours setting up shop at the GF's house, but it is done. Ahhh so now I am jobless. Little does that matter to me I will find another job. For now I am enjoying some time off before I dive into work again. Anyone want to go play mini golf or swimming?

First lets get something straight; Fox is a controlled by idiots you can't see past the reality TV craze. They canceled Firefly after only a few episodes and they never aired the episodes in order. I think the brain dead execs should stop sniffing glue. So I started watching this series and couldn't stop. Now Joss Whedon is that guy who did Buffy and Angel, I don't really like either of those shows but Firefly is so much better. The series is a space opera with a western twist. Now this may sound like a weird concept to you but it works. The 9 crew members are the stars of the show and there are so many twist and turns in the storyline that you can't help wanting to see more. If you don't want to see the whole series then just check out the pilot episode: Serenity, it sets up the whole series and the universe it grounded in.

Cutting Understanding and Overcoming Self-Mutilation
Author: Steven Levenkron Genre: Self-Help/Psychology
Ok first off I am not a cutter. Good now that is out of the way about the book. It is a very good book. I only had one problem with it and that was a comment about tattoos just being a passing fad. I know some people who would disagree with that. He does cover a lot of ground in this book and anyone who is suffering from self-mutilation or knows someone who is will benefit from this book. His therapy focus is on building trust with the person and approaching there problems from that level of trust. I say very insightful.

Starring: Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, and Devon Aoki (oh this one is hot!)
2 Fast 2 Furious accelerates the action into a desperate race for survival, justice...and mind-blowing, jaw-dropping speed! That is what is says on the back of the box...who the HELL writes this crap! That is what I say, what a load a shit. The movie is about fast cars and scantily clad women, don't lie to me. So watch it for the cars. Watch it for Devon Aoki, who couldn't drive a car before this movie. Watch it for outrages stunts. Don't watch it as a desperate race for survival and justice.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Redux Starring: Jessica Biel
Well well well let us see. Was it in Texas? Yep. Was there a chainsaw? Yep. Was there a massacre? Ummm I would say yeah. Now the nuts and bolts. The creepy level of this movie was through the friggin roof. I watched it at home by myself and I was afraid of turning off the lights to go to bed. There was so much they could have done wrong in this movie, but they didn't. Well done. No surprise ending here that is the only draw back. I believe TCM has set the bar for horror movies to come.

The Rundown Starring: The Rock, Seann Scott, and Christopher "Friggin" Walken
So I am watching the movie and I am mildly entertained. The whole time I am thinking where have I seen this before, then it hits me. This is the same story line as the Scorpion King, which also starred Da Rock. Ahhh now I get it, lame. Not as bad as Highlander 2, but still lame. Of course Mr Walken is in it as the bad guy and he does bad guy so good. For just that I would say watch it or at least the scenes with him in it.
In other news I am going to start reviewing the books I read. This will be a little bit slower because it takes me about a week to read a book, so something to look forward to.

House of the Dead Starring: People I have never heard of.
Tantalizing, stirring, riveting....these are words I would NEVER use to describe this movie. Ok 2 people told me this movie sucked while I was in the store renting it. Two total strangers who I never met before! But that still didn't stop me. I had to find out it sucked on my own and it did. The first 15 min are fun because there is some frontal nudity, but after that you can turn it off. So I say after renting this movie come over to my place and I will put a bullet in your head to put you out of your misery and shame. (sidenote: Highlander 2 was still worse)
Something's Gotta Give Starring: Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves
Wait a minute I am supposed to believe Keanu Reeves is a doctor, wow this movie stretches reality more then The Matrix. Seriously, this is a teen romance with some senior citizens. I laughed the whole movie. My only complaint is I thought Nicholson character should have died for the ending, but Hollywood wanted something different of course. So good romantic comedy that doesn't kill the male ego equals a fun night.

Suicide Club Staring: A bunch of Japanese people, (Ryo Ishibashi)
Wow I watched the movie and I was confused at the end. Which isn't a bad thing. The movie follows detectives around trying to solve a rash of group suicides. What the movie really does is try to get you, the audience, to question life and mortality. Of course some of the plot is lost on me because I am not well versed in Japan's pop culture, but there are some nods to Clockwork Orange and Rocky Horror. Strong story, intelligent, and gory. The only downside is the subtitles, no dubbing here, but I prefer watching subtitles over dub...so blah! So in closing another solid Japanese movie.
Matchstick Men Staring: Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell, Alison Lohman.
Ok the story is 2 con-men and a teenage girl. Sounds like a Disney movie from the 50s, but it delivers. Cage plays an obsessive/compulsive conman. He pulls it off, I haven't seen him this good since Leaving Las Vegas. But I knew the story "twist" from the get go. So no big surprise for me. Still a good story and entertaining.
